Kiran Gibson

Kiran Gibson is an experienced senior member of our Criminal Defence Team in Woking. She is a fully accredited solicitor and police station representative. Kiran has represented and advised clients in all manner of driving related offences from the minor, speeding to the most serious, death by dangerous driving.

Kiran has had successful outcomes in cases where clients have been charged with failing to provide a specimen, driving whilst unfit through drugs/drink, aggravated vehicle taking and failing to stop/report following an accident.

Kiran has run successful arguments whereby clients have had their driving licences returned to them earlier than the expiry of the disqualification, following a lengthy disqualification, exceptional hardship arguments and special reasons arguments.

• Notable cases

  Kiran has dealt with various cases over the years:

  R v S – Youth charged with driving whilst unfit through drugs. Tested positive for cocaine and cannabis. Acquitted following trial.

  R v G – Client had been disqualified from driving for a significant period of time having pleaded guilty to a second drink driving offence in the relevant 10 year period. Client instructed that he wished to apply to have his licence returned. Successful application made and licence returned.

  R v M – Client charged with failing to stop and failing to report an accident. Successful representations made to the CPS whereby one offence discontinued.

  R v W – Client charged with aggravated vehicle taking and driving without licence and no insurance. Client pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving without a licence and not guilty to aggravated vehicle taking. Successful representations made to CPS and aggravated vehicle taking discontinued.

  R v B – Client charged with failing to provide a specimen of blood. Argued needle phobia. Successful representations made to CPS, matter discontinued.

  R v AO – Client [army officer] charged with excess alcohol. Successful verbal representations made to CPS regarding charge. Lessor charge of drunk in charge accepted. Successful exceptional hardship argument advanced, Client not disqualified from driving.
